For ranches, farms, and rural businesses across New Mexico and Arizona

Your IT division without the bunkhouse.

Tech support where the pavement ends.

Your computers, your records, and the internet everything depends on — kept up to date, protected, and backed up.

Big-business protection, ranch-country attention.

There's no IT department down the hall. The nearest help can be an hour of dirt road away. The systems you do run — the computer holding the herd records, the books, the connection everything else depends on — have to be watched, updated, and backed up before anything breaks. When it does go wrong, you're on your own.

Services

IT your outfit needs, handled for you

We keep your computers, your internet, and the records they hold working and protected — from the day-to-day to the long-term planning.

Managed IT Support

We keep your computers running so you can stay out where the work is.

  • Every machine is watched around the clock — disk space, memory, failing drives, anything that stops working.
  • Much of what goes wrong is fixed automatically, before anyone files a ticket.
  • System and program updates are tested first, then installed overnight — so an update doesn't cause the outage.
  • A live inventory of what you own and what's running on it, so replacement planning is a conversation rather than a surprise.
  • When something needs a person, we handle it remotely — no drive out, no lost day. Time is billed separately.

Cybersecurity

Your software runs. Ransomware doesn't.

  • Most security tools have to recognize an attack before they can stop it, which gives anything brand new a head start. We flip that: only programs you've approved can run.
  • The programs you actually use run normally. Anything else can't run at all — ransomware seen a thousand times or written last night.
  • Phishing emails that look like they're from your bank or a supplier get contained the moment you click — locked to that email account.
  • Approved programs only get the access they need — so a legitimate tool can't be turned against you.
  • And if something does slip through, we catch it fast.

Backup & Disaster Recovery

Herd and breeding records, the books, years of tax returns: losing those is not an inconvenience, it is a rebuild.

  • Complete copies of strategically selected servers, desktops, and laptops — the whole machine, not just the files — stored in the cloud, on an on-site appliance, or both.
  • When a machine dies, a copy of it runs in the cloud and you keep working while the original is replaced.
  • A lost or stolen laptop's replacement picks up where the old one left off, even on different hardware.
  • One copy is kept air-gapped — isolated from your network so ransomware can't reach it.
  • Every backup is tested overnight, so you know it will work.

Cloud & Microsoft 365

Ranching changes all the time — new practices, new equipment, new ways of working. Technology's no different. We set up and manage your Microsoft 365 and cloud environment so your email and files are the same on the phone, in the pickup, as on the computer at the house.

Networking & Infrastructure

Dependable networks built on decades of hands-on experience — firewalls, switches, Wi-Fi, and secure remote access, designed, deployed, and maintained for places where the buildings sit far apart and the nearest technician sits farther.

IT Consulting & Strategy

Practical technology guidance drawn from 30 years in the field — help with planning, budgeting, and vendor decisions, from someone who has had to justify the same spending on an operation of his own. A sounding board for the decisions you'd rather not make alone.

We also help with

  • Something wrong right now? A suspicious email, a hacked account, a computer acting strange. Use the contact form, even if you are not a client.
  • Email and domains Your domain, your business email, and the settings that keep your mail out of other people's spam folders.
  • Getting organized Old computers and phones with years of records on them — files rescued, duplicates cleared, one contact list that matches on the computer and the phone.
  • Ranch connectivity Internet out to the shop and the camps, cameras at gates and water, and power where there is no line.

Why Taztak

The first person you reach is the fixer

01

Straight to the person who can help

The first person you reach is Terry — thirty years behind him — and he can act on your problem in the same minute. Nothing is taken down and passed along, because there is nobody to pass it to — no help desk reading from a script, no waiting on someone who knows more. That's the difference between a provider and a person.

02

Somebody's always riding night herd

A staffed team rides night herd on your computers around the clock, and most problems are caught before they become a stampede. When something does get through, a critical problem — you can't work, a server is down, ransomware is suspected — gets a response within one hour, any hour of any day. Everything else gets answered the same day.

03

Nothing runs that you didn't approve

The software you use runs normally; ransomware never gets the chance. Backups are kept where ransomware can't reach them, and tested automatically rather than taken on faith. Your records, your people, and your reputation stay protected.

04

Someone who knows your setup — and your business

You get the same person every time — one who knows your setup, not one reading about it in a document written by someone who's since moved on. You never start by explaining your network, and you never start by explaining the cattle business either.

And if something ever happens to Terry, your systems keep running and keep being watched around the clock, and a trusted partner IT firm already holds the documentation and the process to take over.

About

30 years in the technology saddle. A lifetime in the cattle business.

Taztak Services is led by Terry Mitchell, who managed and operated the Tequesquite Ranch, in Harding County, New Mexico, for most of his life — alongside 30 years of hands-on IT work, including years as Network Administrator for Mosquero Municipal Schools, in the same county.

You will not have to explain what shipping day is, why the connection matters more at the well than at the house, why the sale barn can't go down on sale day, or why nobody here is going to sit on hold in the middle of calving.

Taztak is based in Gilbert, Arizona, but the Tequesquite is Terry's second home — he is there six or more times a year. New Mexico is not a place he reads about.

When you work with Taztak, you work directly with someone who takes the time to understand your operation — where you're solid and where you're exposed. We work with ranches, farms, and rural businesses across New Mexico and Arizona:

  • Everything we run is chosen and configured for outfits your size — never scaled down from an enterprise contract you would never fully use.
  • Enterprise-grade technology and senior-level expertise, delivered remotely, without the cost of an in-house team.
  • For the occasional hands-on task, we work through someone already at your place — keeping it simple and keeping the cost down.

Let's make technology work for you

Tell us a little about your outfit and what you need. We'll get back to you quickly to set up a free, no-obligation look at your setup.

Pricing is simple — one monthly rate per computer we manage, desktop or laptop, and servers quoted to what you actually run. Anyone without a machine of their own is covered at no extra charge. It's all month to month. No multi-year contract to sign — we'd rather earn it every month.

Remote connection time is billed separately — tracked and logged, so you always know what you're paying for.
